And once again, the channel is bringing yet another relatable fiction show, Anna, which will entertain one and all as it premieres on 22nd May and airs every Monday to Friday at 8.30 pm, only on Zee Tamil.Anna, a captivating family drama, will revolve around the life of an elder brother – Shanmugam, and his remarkable journey of self-discovery. Starring popular actor Mirchi Senthil as Shanmugam, the show will follow the tale of an elder brother who has taken the responsibility of being the sole breadwinner and taking care of his sisters from a very young age. Despite living with his father, he is accountable for his four younger sisters since his father is an irresponsible alcoholic. Their mother too, left them when they were young, putting all the burden on Shanmugam’s young shoulders.
Though Shanmugam will be seen fulfilling all the responsibilities of being the elder brother without any complaint, he is driven by the traditional notion of getting his sisters married. He works hard intending to get all his sisters married and fulfill each of his sisters’ wishes. However, little does he know that his sisters have grown up with dreams and aspirations of their own. Shanmugam’s journey of self-realization and what follows will keep the viewers hooked to their TV screens.
Anna will also beautifully explore the bond between siblings in a middle-class family and adding to the show’s charm will be talented actress Nithya Ram, who will be essaying a pivotal role as the female lead – Barani.
